Project Description: Phase 1 of the Rancho Rising 2020 Project is the Don Knabe Wellness Center now open. On October 12th 2016, Don Knabe joined RLA patients, doctors, nurses and staff to cut the ribbon on the opening of Rancho’s new jewel! A dedication and celebration for the new wellness center was held at the Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center. This new facility offers a variety of classes and activities for patients, caregivers and community members of different abilities. The center also includes a therapy pool with an underwater treadmill.

The second phase includes, much needed, seismic upgrades, safety and facility renovations, construction of the centralized entrance and remodel of the historic Harriman Building. The renovated structures will allow the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services facility to better meet safety, ADA and privacy requirements. Phase two will be completed by 2020.
