The ever-growing design-build market has motivated Murray Company to invest heavily in our in-house design capabilities.

Murray Company was founded on engineering. It is a significant part of our success and will  be an even greater part of our future.

  • More than 40% of our work is design and build with another 30% design assist.
  • We have designed every type of project including commercial, residential, hospitals, semiconductor, and pharmaceutical.
  • Our staff of professional engineers, engineers in training, designers, CAD operators, and detailers are capable of designing virtually any piping system.
  • The Design Department uses extensive engineering knowledge and construction expertise to produce documents of the highest caliber.
  • The CAD Department utilizes state-of-the-art 3D software and BIM systems for coordination, fabrication, and virtual facility management.
  • Our LEED Accredited Professionals add value to the certification process which is part of nearly every Design-Build project today. We have the ability to perform water calculations and design systems that will maximize the water conservation on any project.

Sustainable Green Design

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has acknowledged the importance of engineered mechanical and plumbing systems in Green Building design by dedicating a significant percentage of LEED® Certification points for new construction to plumbing and piping systems.

In response, Murray Company has chosen to position itself with unique design and construction abilities in the arena of sustainable buildings. We have team members who are LEED® Accredited Professionals, available to lend expertise in sustainable design to any project.

In recent years, many of Murray Company’s projects have included elements of Green Design. Storm water clarifiers, reclaimed water systems, water-saving fixtures, waste water treatment, recycled content, and electronic controls are among the many methods we have implemented in recent projects to satisfy Sustainable program requirements.

  • From design to construction, our LEED® Accredited Professionals are prepared to assist with project checklists, letter templates, credit interpretation rulings, as well as fundamental and enhanced Commissioning requirements. For projects seeking LEED® Certification, we have a standardized document tracking procedure in place for achieving points in the categories of Materials and Resources and Energy and Atmosphere credits.
  • Our LEED® Accredited Professionals (APs) have the knowledge to add value to the LEED® certification process that is part of nearly every design build project today.

  • Water conservation is a major priority, not only for LEED® certification but for overall sustainability in general. Our LEED® APs have the ability to perform water calculations and make fixture selections that will maximize the water savings on any project.
