Project Description: The new patient tower at Torrance Memorial Medical Center will replace the original tower built in 1971 and will feature the latest medical technologies, more beds with space, and a modern design. The 390,000 SF eight-level building consists of a central utility plant located within the basement level and a tunnel connecting the existing hospital to the new facility, a remote generator building structure, multiple underground fuel oil storage tanks, full-sized kitchen, 18 surgical and intervention rooms, a12-bed burn center, and 256 private patient rooms

Murray Company performance began with design at approximately 30% and continued working with architects, MEP engineers, construction manager and end users to complete design. Fully coordinated model using 3D BIM with all MEP, steel framing, ceiling supports, concrete and miscellaneous steel support systems incorporated into the model.
