Project Description: Hollywood & Highland, TrizecHahn’s $385 million dollar entertainment complex, is at the center of entertainment, dining, and nightlife on one of the world’s most famous streets. Hollywood & Highland is home to the Kodak Theater, the permanent home of the Academy Awards and many other high profile televised events, as well as being the second largest attraction for visitors to Southern California. Since opening November 9, 2003, millions of people have visited the Hollywood & Highland entertainment complex, was the first major development in the renaissance of the Hollywood community.
The complex is roughly 1.5 city blocks in size, boasting five levels of mixed-use space including retail, restaurants, nightclubs and ballrooms with 40,000 sq. ft. reserved for cinemas, studio and entertainment services.
The timing and location for this project had presented many unique challenges. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority constructed a new light rail station on the same property and scheduled to open during the early phases of the Hollywood and Highland project. Coordinating design of the new metro station to the new complex made the effort tedious.
