The efforts of getting the West Cooling Tower/Maintenance Building connected to the existing LAX Central Plant was closely coordinated with current Central Utility Plant airport employees. The process included starting up the west cooling tower, VFD’s, water filters, and condenser water pumps to meet the 41,000 GPM required by the existing LAX Central Plant. Three cutover tests were run with the third cutover leaving the West Cooling Tower/Maintenance building connected to the existing LAX Central Plant.
The next phase of the project will consist of starting up the new Central Plant and building the East Cooling Tower. Murray Company’s crew was managed by General Foreman TONY BARRAGAN and Superintendent TIM ORBAN.
