Employee-Applicant Privacy Notice
Murray Plumbing and Heating Corporation d/b/a Murray Company (“Murray,” “we” or “us”) adopts this California Consumer Protection Act Employee and Applicant Privacy Notice (the “Notice”) to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”). Any terms defined in the CCPA have the same meaning when used in this Notice, unless otherwise defined herein. This Notice applies solely to all job applicants, employees, owners, directors, officers, and contractors who reside in the State of California (collectively referred to in this Notice as “California Workers”).
We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of the information we collect and to being transparent about the purposes for which we use your information. This Notice sets forth Murray’s policies and practices for handling the information we collect and use in the employment context.
This Privacy Notice does not form any contract of employment for any contractors nor modify the employment terms for any candidates hired by Murray.
1. Definitions
“Personal Information” or “PI” has the meaning as defined in the CCPA and includes information that is collected by Murray about you in the course of your application for employment, direct services pursuant to a contract, or other employment-related purposes and encompasses any information that identifies, relates to, describes, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with you.
“Process”, “processed”, or “processing” means any operation or set of operations which is performed on Personal Information, whether or not by automated means, such as collecting, recording, organizing, structuring, storing, adapting or altering, retrieving, consulting, using, disclosing by transmission, disseminating or otherwise making available, aligning or combining, restricting, erasing, or destroying of Personal Information.
“Employees”, “employee”, or “you” means an identified or identifiable natural person who is a California resident and who is acting as a Murray job applicant, employee, owner, director, officer, or contractor. In this context “job applicant” refers to any person who has submitted their candidacy with Murray; “employee” refers to any person who is employed at Murray as a full or part-time employee or temporary worker; and “contractor” means a natural person who provides any service to Murray pursuant to a written contract directly with Murray.
2. Categories of Personal Information We Collect and Purpose of Collection
When a person applies to join the Murray team or over the course of a person’s employment for or service with Murray pursuant to a direct contract, we may collect the following categories of Personal Information. Murray collects and uses this Personal Information only as permitted or required by, and in compliance with, law.

Sign-in, device, internet, or other electronic network activity information. This category includes without limitation:

Financial Information. This category includes bank account, billing address, and information about your income and account balances. |

Inferences drawn from the personal information in the categories above. This category includes any information drawn from any of the personal information categories referenced above to create a profile about an employee reflecting the employee’s characteristics, psychological trends, preferences, predispositions, behavior, attitudes, intelligence, abilities, and aptitudes. |

3. Updates
This Notice may be changed to reflect changes in our business, legal, or regulatory obligations, so please check this Notice periodically for changes. To the extent Murray intends to collect additional categories of your Personal Information or use your Personal Information already collected for additional purposes Murray will notify you by providing an updated CCPA Employee and Applicant Privacy Notice. Any changes to this Notice will be effective from the date they are communicated to you.

To carry out the purposes outlined above, Murray may share information with third parties, such as background check vendors, third-party human resources and information technology vendors, outside legal counsel, and state or federal governmental agencies. Murray may add to the categories of PI it collects and the purposes it uses PI. In that case, Murray will inform you of those changes by providing an updated CCPA Employee and Applicant Privacy Notice.
